Treatments Available

Explanation of terms and techniques used within many firm, remedial treatments:

MET: muscle energy technique – a method using proprioceptor neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) specific to massage, to achieve the release of a complete muscle belly and its ancillary structures in order to achieve a release of tension, pain, and stiffness.

Trigger Point: part of the science of ancient Chinese Medicine, stimulating specific points in order to release pain in a spread of referral zones and areas. Some of these referral areas may be quite distant from the trigger points itself.

Deep Tissue: the use of fingers, knuckles and elbows to access deeper muscles, tendentious attachments and ligaments.

Tappotement: the vigorous shaking, hacking and hammering with the hands of the muscles in order to overwhelm the nervous system and create a relaxation response within the muscles.
